limited space

Sometimes the buildings are old and in the center of a town. Large air handling units have no place to fit and can hardly be transported to the site.

Our customized solution:


Climatech air handlers are individually designed for the needs of each situation. Here we constructed a modular air handling unit with several parts, which can be adapted to almost any spacial possibilites and be transported in pieces. We assembled the unit on-site. In other projects we designed vertical solutions or other individual constructions to fit in limited space.

extra HVAC BMS

Sometimes there is no Building Management System where the AHU´s control can be integrated into.

Climatech air handlers are individually designed for the needs of each situation. We can equip the Climatech fresh air handling unit with an independent control unit, where you can control the climate for different zones of your building centrally.


low noise

Sometimes the slightest noise in the building is disturbing, even the air outlets.

Our customized solution:


Climatech air handlers are individually designed for the needs of each situation. Here we separated the mechanical vibration from the construction and so minimized structure-borne noise. We also implemented several silencers and a special panel construction with extremely dense mineral wood and additional bitumen heavy foil.

packaged refridgeration system

Sometimes there is no thermal or cooling medium on the roof, so the AHU has to work on its own.

Our customized solution:


Climatech air handlers are individually designed for the needs of each situation. Here we integrated a reversible heat pump to for heating and cooling, fully integrated in the AHU. A modern speed controlled compressor for modulating operation and a special 3-coil refrigeration system were used to avoid defrosting in winter.

high pressure

Sometimes extraordinary high external static pressures are present.

To manage high pressure systems special industrial high pressure fans are used. Besides, the whole casing is

constructed more stable to withstand the pressure.

Sometimes other requirements do not allow the standard. Air handling units on a ship or architectural demands for example.

Canary Wharf, London

Award winning project in the tight center of London
 
The project was about the replacement of the existing fresh air cooling and heating system.
Total Air Volume.: ca. 320,000 m³/h

The problem:
The old building has very limited space for transport and for the AHU itself. The clients architect also had specific requirements on the color as it is the center of London.

Our solution:
  • The rooftop packaged units have been constructed as modular boxes, which allowed the transport through the building to plant rooms
  • We added special panels to fit the air handler to the ancient architectural look
  • The new system is based on six Climatech AHU´s linked to six Geoclima water-to-air heat pumps for a total heating capacity of 2,34 MW and total cooling capacity of 2,12 MW
  • The energy costs  and carbon emissions were reduced by 10% while the capacity was increased by 25%


Royal College of Music, London

AHU project under extreme noise restrictions

 

The project was about the replacement of the existing fresh air cooling and heating system in one of London´s iconic buildings.

Total Air volume: ca. 40,000 m³/h


The problem:

The Royal College of Music needs complete silence in operation in all rooms.


Our solution:

  • Several silencers were arranged one behind the other in the device
  • Special panel construction with extremely dense mineral wool
  • Addtional Bitumen heavy foil



Elli Lilly, Basingstoke

Office building with no thermal infrastructure on the roof

 

The rooftop project was about a fresh air cooling and heating system for a newly constructed office building in Basingstoke, England.


Total air volume: ca. 33,000 m³/h


The problem:

They needed a rooftop unit, but the thermal infrastructure on the roof was not in the plans.


Our solution:

  • Installation of an integrated, reversible heat pump to enable reversible operation
  • Use a speed-controlled compressor to cope with the different load conditions
  • Special 3-coil construction developed to avoid defrosting in winter
  • Fully integrated and independent control HVAC BMS control system

Bristol Airport, Bristol

Office building with no thermal infrastructure on the roof

 

The rooftop project was about  a fresh air cooling and heating system for a newly constructed administration building at the Bristol Airport, England.


Total air volume: ca. 36,000 m³/h

There is no thermal infrastructure on the roof.

Container ships, ferrys and yachts equipped with air handling units

 

We mounted  several air cooling and heating systems on large container ships in the shipyard of Strahlsund and Sietas as well as on luxury yachts and ferryboats in the last years.
